Terazosin Hcl

Description: If you have symptoms of prostate enlargement (BPH), your doctor might prescribe terazosin. The drug relaxes the muscles near the prostate and bladder allowing for the easier flow of urine. Terazosin also lowers blood pressure, so it may be useful in treating men who have both BPH and high blood pressure.

Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments. Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone. Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet This medicine may cause the following problems: Low blood pressure (especially if taken with other medicines that lower blood pressure)Painful or prolonged erection of the penisSerious eye problem called Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) in patients having an eye procedure (including cataract surgery) Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver disease, cataracts, low blood pressure, or a history of prostate cancer. Swelling in the hands, ankles, or feet, rapid weight gain

Food Warnings: Do not stop using this medicine without asking your doctor. If you have not taken the medicine for several days, you will need to use a lower dose when you start taking it again., Some medicines can affect how terazosin works. Tell your doctor if you are using verapamil, medicine to treat erectile dysfunction (including sildenafil, tadalafil), or other blood pressure medicines., Do not drink alcohol while you are using this medicine., This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy. Avoid driving, using machines, or doing anything else that could be dangerous if you are not alert., Your doctor will need to check your progress at regular visits while you are using this medicine. Be sure to keep all appointments.
